Hi I’ve posted and been reading these threads religiously since I found out I was pregnant just over two weeks ago (tested positive day of missed period). Anyway I found out on here about BPAS booked an appointment via their website and had my phone call last week. I found the actual phone call a positive one experience, the lady I spoke to was very thorough with her questions and explanations of the process and non judgemental. Anyway the tablets were posted out Friday but I had my children all weekend so decided to take the first tablet Monday after work at 5pm I was just 6 weeks at this point. Anyway that night I was fine apart from waking up in a cold sweat and feeling a little bit shaky. I went to work Tuesday and again was absolutely fine apart from feeling nervous about the next lots of tablets. I took the double dose of ibuprofen as advised and some paracetamol, inserted the x4 tablets vaginally and stayed lying down for at least 30 mins. I then sat and watched a film with my friend holding a hot water bottle on me. After an hour I had a few mild twinges but nothing too bad so I was unsure if it was anything. Anyway I sat and waited another hour and decided to see if there was any bleeding as I had hardly any pain so was panicking it hadn’t worked. I got the shock of my life when I went to the toilet wiped and there was a fair bit of red blood and a couple of clots. I felt relieved that something was happening but still would say the pain was only about a 2/10. I sat down and then after half an hour got quite a sharp piercing pain and what felt like a Labour contraction and felt I need to go to the toilet to empty my bowels. As I sat on the toilet I felt like a ‘pop’ from my vagina and passed a larger clot (no idea if this was the pregnancy but just looked like a clot) and quite a bit of blood. At this point there was also blood on my pad but not loads. I rang the helpline who said it did sound like it had worked but if I would feel more reassured to take the last two tablets they wouldn’t harm me. I decided to take these orally between my cheek and gums. After the 30 mins I swallowed what hadn’t dissolved. I would say after taking these (roughly an hour) I felt shaky again and my teeth were chattering and I felt cold but it wasn’t scary at all. Iv continued to have some cramping and still bleeding but I just feel like I am on my period. The fatigue I had from fine g out I was pregnant has gone and my boobs already feel less tender. I thought I’d feel really sad but atm I feel relief. I know that at some point it may hit me emotionally but I feel I’ve made the right decision for me. For anyone in a similar situation please reach out on here, I’ve had some very supportive comments which made me feel less alone. I am so grateful that we have this choice in this country.
