Hi
6 weeks ago I had a termination for medical reasons which was so difficult as I’m really wanting another baby. I have been suffering with retained tissue. I have had antibiotics to be on the safe side and the medicine to try and flush me out but that didn’t get all of it out. At last scan I still have a small amount left in there. We decided to wait another week to see if my period would come and it has! But my question is will all of this come out during this period. I feel like this is a grey area no one can give me straight answers to. Just wondering what others have experienced? I want to get trying again soon.

I have a very sore pelvic area as well I’m sure that’s from the retained tissue. I just want this all to be over now. Midwife calling me next week to see if my period did come and possibly book in for another scan.

Hi, sorry to hear what happened to you! just wondering if all the retained tissue came away during your period? I’m currently going through the same and it’s a like a waiting game. It’s been 7 weeks for me and I’m still stuck bleeding on and off and now on antibiotics. I’m hoping to try again and plan things with my family and I feel like I can’t do any of those things because I’m stuck in this rut of not knowing what’s going to happen next.

@Makeuplover2792 Hi i actually ended up having surgery a couple weeks later to remove the last of it as it ended up still having a blood supply. I know how you’re feeling tho it’s awful. The whole process took 11 weeks for me until my hcg got back down to below 5. I’m now on my first cycle ttc again. I hope it all comes out for you soon. But if your worried speak to your doctor and demand you be referred for another scan as that’s what I did. Wish I had the surgery sooner tbh.

My appointment was very minimal information tbh this is why I’m so unhappy and confused by it all, i was just told there is some retained but it’s not a lot but there are pools of blood surrounding it and that is why i am having the symptoms and bleeding etc. I’ve been given antibiotics but I’m still no better off and have been told to just wait for my period and that should get rid of the rest but after speaking to a pharmacist and nurse where I had the termination they have told me there is no guarantee it will come away! I’m so frustrated I feel like I can’t even move on from it because I’m still stuck in this situation.
