Worried Sick I might have an infection after abortion

Advice anyone. Had a medical abortion at home 5 days ago but for the past 3 days the blood im getting rid off has a horrible smell. My periods do not smell like this. Its like a strong metallic and almost gone off raw meat smell. I do not have a fever or shivering but I do feel very tired, wanting to sleep during the day which is unlike me. I was going to go to a&e but don't know if it warrants that. I'm scared I will get sepsis or something horrible ( health anxiety going)..but I've read these things can get out of control very quickly. Does it sound like an infection? My urine seems okay as I gave some urine checks at home but its the smell from the blood. Please help. X

I'm not an expert but those symptoms sound like something is wrong. It's possible that some pregnancy tissue was left inside the uterus and infection is possible. I think you should talk to a doctor, even if you just tell them your symptoms over the phone and see if they want you to come in for an exam. That's so scary, I hope you will be okay 🐝

Please go to the hospital hun it's better to be safe than sorry . Bad odor I was told is a reason to go the hospital please get checked xx

I've given birth three times, had a miscarriage and a MA. Post birth bleeding / pregnancy bleeding has never smelled the same as period blood in my experience. Having said that though, listen to your instinct. Always better to rule it out. Sending love
