Hello.
I have had my appointment with BPAS today and have taken the first pill- today Monday. I'm terrified about tomorrow. I have super thick pads and painkillers ready. Anyone had this at 6 weeks and how was it? Big clots? How.long were you bleeding after?
The thing that scares me most is that I am travelling abroad on Sunday with my two children on my own to meet family. I am so worried about complications- has anyone travelled abroad after?
Also the nurse told me no swimming- the place we are going has a pool and my children will want to be in there all the time- but can't swim on their own yet. My relatives are old and won't be able to help out more than an hour. Has anyone swam after?
I read on the NHS website that you can swim as soon as you feel comfortable.
I feel so stupid worrying about these things in the grand scheme of life but it will be a big deal for my children.

Hi, I was in the exact situation as you. Had a MA on a Friday just shy of 6 weeks and travelling abroad 8 days later. I was absolutely fine.

At 6 weeks (I was 5 and 6 days), the worst of it passed within 4 hours of taking the misoprostol. I passed in late Friday night. By Saturday morning I felt like I was having a bad heavy period. Please do make sure you rest. I made the mistake of taking my daughter to a shopping centre (she had no idea what I'd gone through) and I felt weak after that. The following few days I passed little clots but it was mostly like a heavy period.

I went through MSI and they recommended that I change my travel insurance incase there was any complications. They too also said I could swim when I felt ready. Tampons or cups weren't an issue but they did say use pads so I could monitor flow..

Have a lot of pads of travel, but over a week after the MA my bleeding dropped to light spotting and 2 weeks on it's completely stopped. The worst of it was just immediately before passing it and then it dropped to very manageable levels for me. I flew to the other side of the world a week after I passed it.

Good luck xx

Thank you so much. So odd that different advice is given on the same country.
Thank you💛
