So I had my baby boy 8 weeks ago. Quite a fast and intense labour which ended in an episiotomy and forceps. I knew the guidance was to wait 6 weeks to have any type of sex but I felt completely fine at about 4 weeks pp. My stitches had healed, I had no pain and no bleeding. I took a morning after pill the first time as I was paranoid. Of course things happened again with my partner and I have just got a positive pregnancy test. At first I thought it may be left over hormones from my baby boy but apparently at this stage pp the hg would be gone and this would indicate a new pregnancy!!! I cannot believe how stupid me and my partner have been. Our son was a complete accident (as much a we love him now) and I can’t believe we’ve let it happen again. We are in no position to have another child and of course so soon after our son. Unfortunately as much as it hurts me I think my only option is to terminate. Has anyone else gone through this so soon after having a baby? Just needing some words of advice as my head is all over the place 😢

Hey semummy, I'm sorry this happened to you, what a shock. You might want to have the pregnancy confirmed by a doctor just in case. And if you really are pregnant again, give it careful thought. Did you want to have more than one child at some point? Is daycare cost the main issue? Just as your first unplanned child has turned out to be a blessing, the second one might be as well. Just give yourself time for the surprise to wear off a little before making this final decision, the last thing you want is wishing to go back in time and choose differently. I wish you the best whichever way you end up going.

Hi semummy32

Ive been here twice before. Both times with baby 1 & 2, I was pregnant by my 6 week ppl checkup. I had 3 children by the time my eldest was 20 months. Yes I should have known better but we got carried away several times. Neither time did I imagine I would get pregnant. I hope you get the time and space to think about what is best for you. Sending you love
