Medical abortion and still positive

So 3 weeks ago I had a medical abortion, today Iv tested positive on a clear blue digital it says 1-2 weeks, iv panicked and got another clear blue and there is a slight line. Am I pregnant again or not? Iv had sex twice since first time we used a condom, second time was only 3 days ago and I know not great but he pulled out.
Anybody shed any light on this? Please 😞

You're extremely fertile after an abortion so if you've not taken proper precaution you could well be pregnant again. Only thing you could do is take another test in a weeks time

I know but I just don't get how I would be when we used contraception. The sex 4 days ago would be too soon to show up anyway so I'm so confused.

@Summer221 if you used contraception then you're probably ok. Just test again in a week, it could be left over hormones from the abortion it can take time for them to fully leave your body from what I've read😊

So you can still have HCG 3/4 weeks after one?

@Summer221 did you have a medical abortion? Sometimes you can have stuff left over in the womb if it hasn't all come away. Only thing you can do is like I said retest in a week if it's still positive ring up the place you had the abortion and they may rescan you

Yes I did have a medical abortion, they gave me a test to do 3 weeks after and I did that on Tuesday just gone and that was negative. But the clear blue was positive.
I think I might call my doctor tomorrow or I know I'm going to panic.

@Summer221 I personally don't think it could be a new pregnancy unless you hadn't used protection the first time you had intercourse but you said you used a condom so unless it split it's very unlikely! But for peace of mind I can't blame you 😊 hope all turns out ok for you and what you want. X

The pregnancy test they give you is 1,000miu/ml and clearblue is from 25miu/ml so clearblue is more sensitive I think, are you still bleeding?

No I'm not bleeding anymore at all. And the test they gave me I was negative on. I guess Im more worried that Iv fallen pregnant again but I don't get how, that's really unlucky.

The test the doctors will have given you is a really non sensitive test- so you’d have to be a few weeks to test positive on it. The clear blue are not recommended after abortions as they pick up on the smallest bit of pregnancy hormone left in your body. Test again in a week. Good luck x

Hi I went to the doctors yesterday, I had a ultrasound scan which showed my womb empty & HCG bloods showing at 25.6ml
They think it's old pregnancy but I am still positive on shop ones.
