I feel completely sick. I took my first abortion pill last night, and I want to reverse it. I’m trying to get progesterone shots. Has anyone else been in this situation?

Hi. I'm sorry no one else has replied.
Lots of pregnancies can continue after the first abortion pill if you don't take the second. There's no evidence to show birth defects etc from the first Tablet if the pregnancy continue. Have you spoken to the abortion provider for advice?
Unfortunately they don't prescribe progesterone in the UK to "reverse" the abortion Apparently there is lack of evidence to suggest this is safe. Having been in a similar situation myself, I know how upsetting and stressful it is. I hope you're ok.
You don't have to take the second lot of tablets if you really don't want to.

Thank you, that gives me hope! I was able to get a prescription for progesterone, thank goodness. I wonder how I’ll know if it’s working? I don’t have any cramping and bleeding and it’s been 40 hours since my last dose. Would that be a good sign?

I'm glad you got a prescription! Unfortunately when I tried the NHS wouldn't prescribe...
I would definitely say no cramping and bleeding after that amount of time passed is a good sign! If you want extra reassurance maybe have an early scan? Wishing you all the best for the rest of your pregnancy! Xxx

Hi.there... just wondering if your pregnancy is still viable ?

If it's of any help, I took the first mifepristone and didn't take misoprostol. I had some brown bleeding to start with later the same day, then over the course of the following 5 days it changed to red but not an awful lot. I was 10+2. Now I'm 28+3 and she is looking wonderful ☺️

Sad55 I hope things work out for you.

Just in case others access this thread, it's really just luck if your pregnancy continues after mifeprostol. I also took the pill at 10wks (now been diagnosed with perinatal ocd, leading to my actions) and was not so lucky.

If you have any doubts at all or are unwell resolve how you feel before you take the pill. There is time and it's ok to give yourself time work through your feelings. The first pill works on its own so be as sure as you can be first.
