Can’t get a surgical abortion in Scotland

Hi

Can anyone shed any light on my situation because I’m running out of time. Currently 10weeks pregnant and cannot mentally undergo a medical abortion. Is it true I can’t get a surgical on the NHS in Scotland? I can’t afford to go private as I’ve found out it’s around £3000 🥺

please let me know if you have any information x

I am shocked if you can't undergo surgical that's funded by nhs. You tried asking gp or ringing bpus or nupass? You might have to travel but definitely ring around and see what is there.

Wish you the best, it's absolutely horrible being pregnant and not wanting to be. I went through a medical abortion myself recently x

@Heathernoll I finally got in touch with my GP who put a referral in for me to be considered for a surgical but unfortunately by the time this was all done I was 12 weeks gone so it was no longer an option as apparently that’s the cut off for surgical.

If you don’t mind me asking how far along were you and how was your experience of a medical abortion x

Hey, can you afford travel to the UK? Or have somewhere to stay? You can get treatment over here up to 24 weeks. I can try find resources for you if you want.

I did my MA 2 weeks ago, and am now officially negative. I'm so relieved and recovering well. My MA was really straight forward, I bled a week about 1 day of heavy and the rest was moderate to light/spotting. I honestly was worried it failed, I didn't have pain or anything x
