Medical abortion- how long did you have bleeding for?

Hello,

Currently on day 7 after taking the second tablets and the bleeding hasn't particularly eased anymore since day 2. I had the passing of a big clot last week after I took the tablets and the very heavy bleeding that went with it but now it's still like a heavy period and has been like this since. Sometimes on the loo I pass small clots and it's still bright red.

Did anyone else have fairly heavy bleeding for this amount or time after the second pill? When did it slow down for you or should I contact the doctors?

My boobs are still sore too on day 7!

How far along were you? I was 4.5 weeks and bled heavily for 3-4 days then it slowly eased to more period like and after a week, it was light spotting. My first period afterwards though was very heavy and clotty which isn’t like me, the second period was more normal.

@Sjdtg was it quite heavy for the whole three weeks that you were bleeding?

@scaredandanxious01 I was 5 weeks so not much further along than you, wondering whether this isn't quite normal then!

@minimini358 who was your provider? I used BPAS and they said I could call with any queries, it may be worth calling your provider to put your mind at rest. Have you been really active at all? After three days I really wanted to go for a nice walk with DP to try and get back to normality, but we had to cut it short because I was bleeding so heavily I couldn’t be far from the loo! When I spent the next day resting, that’s when it started to lessen.

@scaredandanxious01 I went privately through the gynae clinic in London (I live in the midlands) as bpas wanted me to have a scan beforehand and the next appointment was 3 weeks! I'll maybe give them a call tomorrow and ask. Thank you! I've been up and doing my usual busy life of chasing around a toddler so I guess that could help too!
