What to do with midwife and having an abortion?

So basically at the start of the pregnancy I contacted the local midwives and got appointed one. I saw her at 6 weeks and haven't since.

Since then things have changed, and due to medical reasons, we have decided an abortion is the best. I was referred through my GP, and I'm going through BPAS. It's definitely the best decision and I have no doubts on it. The abortion is next week.

My issue is, I forgot about the midwife! What do I do? Do I have to tell her? I know from the one I had with my daughter they can be very opinionated and I'm not interested in debating on it. I've looked for advice on here but there's nothing similar to my situation. Can I just text her, or do I need to contact at all? I'm not entirely sure how this stuff works.

Thanks Smile

Call/text next week and leave a message to say you’re no longer pregnant and so you would like to cancel the appointment. She’s unlikely to waste her limited time judging you about it. She might ask if you’ve got anything organized to follow up medically and you can just say yes, you’re being looked after medically and don’t need any follow-up care from the local midwives.

I had a booking appointment for a pregnancy but I had a niggle that it wasn’t going to stick so asked her if I had a miscarriage did I need to let her know and she said no, she’d assume as much if I didn’t turn up at the next appointment.

I had a mmc, so didn’t go to my next appointment with her and she didn’t follow up with me. I’m sure it happens quite often.

So you might not need to do anything
