Medical abortion at 6 weeks

Hi, I know it's quite late but I'm really hoping people will reply tonight. I took the first tablet in the clinic to start a medical abortion yesterday. They gave me 4 tablets to bring home and insert into my vagina tomorrow. Every story I've read, they have been told to put them in over a few hours. My nurse told me to insert all 4 together. Has anyone else been told to do this.

Also all I've done is have panic attacks as I'm so scared about the pain and bleeding that I've been told will happen. I'm no good with pain. I do suffer with period cramp, is it just like a bad cramp period. I'm going to insert the tablets about 7.30am or 8am. How long does it usually take and does the pain ease after you pass the pregnancy. TIA xxx

Hi @Mummyof3devils bit late to respond but I put all four in at the same time as recommended by MSI and it started within an hour. I really didn't have any pain. I took some ibuprofen at the same time. It happened quickly and in waves if that makes sense and I ended up taking the extra two orally after calling MSI as although it was all happening as it should I wanted to make sure it was all over by the time my DC got home from school. I had dinner with them fine at 5pm after taking the first tablets at 9am and the second lot at 1pm.

Hope it goes smoothly for you today

Thankyou for your reply. I put the 4 in at 8.30am. Been getting waves of pains and cramps and just a little bleeding. I'm absolutely terrified because of the stories I've read about medical abortions. People say you can't get off the toilet cos you bleed so much. I've just got bad visions in my head lol. I took ibrufen 30 mins before I put the tablets in. The cramps are tolerable atm I just hope it stays this way 😢 x

I was just over 7 weeks. It was really fine. Try not to worry. For me I had waves where I knew I need to get to the loo and then kind of released it there. I felt the clots but didn't see them as just flushed. I really didn't have any pain. I even cleared out draws and tidied in between waves as I wanted to keep my mind off it.

I think from your username you've had kids? The bleeding on the pad was no worse than post birth lochia

I've just passed a clot. I'm not sure if it was the pregnancy or a clot. It was like the size of my thumb. But I haven't had much bleeding yet. I'm so scared

How are you getting on?

Mummyof3devils · 18/02/2022 14:34

The clot that I passed at 11am mustnt have been the pregnancy, as I passed that at 12. The 10 minutes leading upto the passing I was in very bad pain. It felt like I was actually in full blown labour. As soon as it passed the pains and cramps settled down, they are still there and still quite painful at times but manageable. I have passed quite alot of blood and smaller clots but touch wood I'm coping so far. Thankyou for your replies today you've helped more than you know x

I'm glad it went ok for you. Hopefully everything has calmed down now.

No problem at all. It can be a really lonely thing to go through xx

Mummyof3devils · 18/02/2022 18:42

Well I'm still getting quite intense cramps and pains, I'm starting to worry now

Did anyone have vomiting when taking the tablets?

Zandasstar7 · 26/03/2022 20:20

This can be a side effect I did before when dissolved orally but not this time vaginally

Totallyexhausted123 · 26/03/2022 20:35

How was you taking the first tablet that you have to take orally?

Zandasstar7 · 26/03/2022 20:52

I felt very nauseas but was not sick

Mumoftwoteensandacat · 30/03/2022 21:02

Did any of you get travel sickness tablets with your pack?
I did and didn’t get any nausea. Lady explained if you’re sick you might need to go back and they didn’t want to delay things. X

Totallyexhausted123 · 30/03/2022 21:18

I’ve been told that because I have a phobia of being sick I can just insert the 4 tablets internally.. anyone else heard of it. Did anyone vomit when doing or taking the tablets
