No period 2 months after medical

I had a medical at 9 weeks 5 days and I still haven't had my period 8 weeks after, nor showing any signs of it coming on. I know it was successful as I saw baby, and had a checkup a week after due to having complications during the medical. I had a late term medical a few years ago at 17 weeks and my period came back 3 weeks later so I'm a bit worried. Not sure if I should go to the doctors or not. Anyone been through anything similar, and did your periods go back to normal?

I’m sorry to ask, do you mean a medically managed miscarriage?

Presuming you do, then you may have some “retained products of pregnancy”. Contact the clinic they should bring you back in for an HCG blood test and a scan

Please contact your clinic and let them know.

That's fine, I had a termination for medical reasons last time and the experience was very similar. I did have a mild infection which cleared up without antibiotics, but I do feel I may have something left over which could explain it. I ended up in hospital with retained product only a few hours after administrating the first set of tablets, but they sent me home once they felt I had passed the placenta

I had retained products a year back and had fortnightly scans for 3 months until it couldn’t be seen anymore. They should have you back in for scans and blood tests and should continue to monitor you until (at least) after your first period.

Often it clears up with the first period, but not always. Retained products can cause permanent damage and should be monitored, be pushy Flowers
