Abortion at Home - Starting today! Please hand hold x

I've begun the process of my medical abortion at home - took the first pill today at 1pm and will be doing the next steps tomorrow!

Gaaahd I'm so anxious and still have a few hours left at work to get through. Purposely chose to do it this weekend to give myself time to recover before work on Monday.

I've got my water bottle, ice lollies, pain killers etc at the ready but id appreciate any moral support as I go it alone. Anyone else going through the same atm?

Hi Lolli, how are you feeling? I took the first pill this morning and I'll have to take 4 more on Sunday which will start the bleeding so that's when I'll start feeling rough. Is it the same process where you are?

Handhold for you Lolli

I started my abortion at home last Monday and took the second meds on the Tuesday lunchtime. Everything started a few hours later. It wasn't nice but was manageable (with codeine).

I worked from home during it but honestly the Wednesday was a write off with the pain and bleeding. I felt very sorry for myself and was very tearful for the rest of the week.

One week on I'm feeling a lot better both physically and emotionally. Have completely stopped bleeding now as well.

DP is awaiting his ✂️ appointment.

Here for you 💜

I feel fine to be honest! I haven't felt sick or anything like they said to expect but I've just kept drinking plenty of water. Very much excited for a cosy night now work is over with! Hope you are ok lovely - I'll keep you posted on how tomorrow goes as I'm only waiting the 24 hours xx

So glad it went well for you, it's always nice to see some positive stories!

I know this might sound stupid but did they give you any advise on bathing etc?! I can imagine it's gonna feel abit icky and wasn't sure if they advise having or avoid a nice warm bath!

They told me to avoid baths to avoid the risk of infection as the medication opens the cervix, so it's only warm showers for now (also no sex for a couple of weeks). Take care and enjoy your evening as much as possible

Lazymare, good to know you're feeling better after a week and that your husband is supportive and is getting the snip

Just inserted the first 4 tablets and dosed myself up with painkillers.

I'm was so shaky with nerves - I really hope everything goes smoothly 😩 xx

It'll be a rough couple of days but it'll be over soon. Hot water bottle, blanket, plenty of water... If you need more painkillers please remember NOT to take aspirin. I'm here if you need to talk!

Everything is going well I'm actually very shocked at how quick things have moved along. Just keeping myself occupied and cosy. I think I've already passed the pregnancy this happened just over an hour of inserting the pills. Still cramping etc but definitely manageable - I've not actually taken the codeine as I've been so nauseous I didn't want to make it any worse.

Thanks! Everything went ok, now I'm just a bit tired but so relieved to be in a part of the world were women have this option, I couldn't stop thinking about women who don't :(

I hope you're feeling ok physically and emotionally, take care!
