Abortion (I'm frightened)

Hello,

I have found that I am recently pregnant. However, due to financial difficulty and studying I have decided to have a termination. I rang up my local clinic today and have to wait a week for my consultation. I am absolutely terrified at the moment and can't stop crying and the thought of waiting a week is making me so anxious. I really need some support at the moment and was wondering if people could reply with their experiences and how long they had to wait xx

I was reassuring the OP who had stated she was scared of being made to wait.
Your aggressive tone to me and on this thread asking for kind support is unnecessary and unwelcome. You dont get to rant at me and tell me off. You also dont get to patronise me by telling me an abortion is not a takeaway

I’m waiting for a consultation with MSI, happening end of this week but have had a 2 week wait! It’s been awful to be honest.

It's horrible the wait, but we're in this together. Please message me if you want someone to talk to, I've found this platform is really helping me now with the waiting process xxx

Thank you! I really appreciate it. Not sure how to even message someone directly on here. First time to mums net but needed to find people going through the same. Xx

Hi OP, I can completely sympathise! I have actually had two terminations, about 8 years apart! The first one, I went private because the local wait time was 2 weeks. The first time I went down to Leeds I was actually too early for them to be able to see anything on the scan, so they couldn’t do anything and I had to return a week later. That was worse I think, to be so close, and thinking if I could just get through that day my life would be back to normal and then back to the horrible waiting 😩 all the while kicking myself thinking I should have just waited for the NHS appointment at home and not have wasted so much money on last minute flights! I don’t know how they do things now, but at least waiting that little bit longer it is far more likely they’ll be able to see something on the scan and get the process started for you. You are always welcome to PM me to chat if you have any questions or anything x

How are you doing OP?

I haven't been too bad the past couple of days. I think speaking to everyone on here has really helped and to hear other peoples experiences. I'm still totally scared about the procedure and scared the pregnancy won't pass once the tablets are taking but I know it's rare and I'm sure lots of ladies go through the same anxiety xxxx

There are some other older threads on here about the procedure and what to expect- they really helped me - all the best xx
