Medical abortion and asthma anybody any experience

Please can anyone offer any advice - I’m ending pregnancy and I’ve read today that medical abortions aren’t always offered to asthmatics due to potential asthma attack? Has anybody any experience with this? As if it’s not stressful enough making and going through with your decision

Thanks for reading

That's incorrect ... the only risk is that asthmatics are not usually able to use Ibuprofen... so have to rely on paracetamol and or codeine
You will be fine with a medical

Thank you so much for your reply @66babe. That is a huge relief. I am fine with ibuprofen too so I feel so relieved. I have a telephone consultation on Friday morning to get wheels in motion. I’ll be 7+2 on Friday so I’m hoping I can collect the meds myself.

That will depend on if you need to come in for a scan or not , or anything else flags up on your medical assessment- maybe being a bit anaemic for example
If all ok , you can collect or have them posted but please don't assume it will be the same day - if your local clinic has no appt or is only open twice a week or whatever you may have to travel or wait .. postage is 1-3 working days usually
Best not to plan too much . You need to have your consultation first and see how you get on

Ah ok thank you - I understand. I just want to be brave and get things happening now. Thanks for explaining. I’m petrified.

We understand
Every day just drags this on and on
Take this time to be sure of your feelings , your options and how you will manage , get organised with some pads , hot water bottle etc
Silly as it sounds ... start to think of something positive to look forward after
Nice book , nice meal you've not been able to enjoy , nice candle
Keep occupied , have something to distract you and hopefully the time will pass quickly for you
