Should someone stay with me on the night of a medical abortion?

Hi, I'm due to have a medical abortion next week. I'll be 6/7 weeks, trying not to panic and get my head straight, I'm very scared of taking the tablets!

My 'bf' is taking me there and then driving me home. Would it be advisable to ask him to stay overnight too? Things aren't great with us, but I feel quite scared and anxious about the whole procedure and I'm wondering if it's best he stays so I've got some support and in case I'm in a lot of pain/faint or something?

Thanks

At 6/7 weeks there shouldn’t be much in the way of physical pain, but you may need someone to support you emotionally. If things aren’t great between you is there a friend or family member you could ask instead

They advised me to have someone with me over night but I didn’t and was ok

It is just like getting a heavy period, nothing to worry about. You don't faint or have a lot of pain. You won't need anyone there, unless you particularly want them . You'll be fine.
