Does anyone know what the point of a health visitor is and why they need to come to your house? I feel like they are just nosey and useless :/

I think HVs are viewed similarly to Social services. A great resource if you need them but intrusive and nosey if you don't.
I had a bad experience of one turning up very early the day after I had my first born and who kept pulling at my nipples when trying to 'help' me breastfeed but thankfully I haven't had the need for one after the following births and declined their services after the initial visit (handed over leaflets, made some comment about dad's needing to bond with 'bump' to prevent low IQ and boost emotional wellbeing when it was on my notes that I was a single mother-thanks)

@BlancheM that sounds awful !! The last thing I would is someone turning up at my door just after I've given birth 🤯 I might let them come round for the first visit then Decline the rest, I don't want someone coming round telling me what to do and not do it's the most annoying thing x

Mine was so lovely! I was actually sad when it was her last visit.

She was really helpful just chatting with me about how I felt and any concerns I had. I found her to be really supportive.
