Coming off of Microgynon - Delayed period

Hi everyone,

I am new to this group and just wanted to get everyone's opinions on the following ;

I came off the Microgynon contraceptive pill after 9 years' and had a 'withdrawal bleed' nearly 2 weeks after followed by what appeared to be a 'normal period' shortly after this. I am using an app called 'Flo' as a tracker and I am now 9 days late for what should be my 'normal period'. I have taken 2 HPT's both negative. I have been getting bad headaches and nausea and lower abdominal cramping for the last 2 weeks nearly almost like a period cramp but not as severe and the period never comes. A week before my period was 'late' I had a couple of days of a very light brownish sticky coloured discharge - though it wasn't a lot ( sorry for TMI ! ) I last took a pregnancy test at 6 days late so was just wondering what the chances are of me being pregnant despite 2 negative HPT's (one was a clear blue test this is the first test I took at 3 days late).

Thank you in advance for any advice SmileSmile xx

My period was late after coming off of Mycrogynon and I'd only been on it a few months.

Home pregnancy tests are pretty accurate these days, especially 6 days post due date but I would go to the Dr and explain things if you don't get it soon. They can give you a blood test and rule out pregnancy. It might just take your body a few months to regulate again.

I was on microgynon for a similar time and it took ages for my period to return after I stopped taking it. I had no idea or I would have stopped it sooner. I stopped taking it in about March and it didn't come back til late summer. I think I may have actually had something from the GP to kick start them again but it was now almost twelve years ago so I can't remember well. I know that once they did come back I got pregnant the first month so hopefully things will work out for you soon. It is so frustrating at the time! Flowers

When I came off microgynon (had been on it for 10 years) it took a year for my cycles to go back to normal. Until then they varied from 26 days to 45 days.

It took me a year to get my periods back after coming off microgynon. I went to the doctor and apparently that's normal and they weren't concerned.
