Pregnant with DC3 by accident. I am so torn because DH is so useless and cold

I have 2 DC. One is just 3yo and the other is 1yo. I am a SAHM because of our financial circumstances.

I have found my DH pretty cold during my pregnancies and births, and he has played very little roll in the first few months of both their lives but has warmed up once they passed the age of 1 and done a little more. Nevertheless he mostly leaves me to do everything while he works (and isn’t making much money at the moment - he is an entrepreneur so no regular salary.)

We’ve had financial problems too, thanks to DH’s business, which have caused us to move house (downsize)several times in the last year, and looking ahead to next year, we’ll be moving at least twice.

I could really make our financial circumstances better if I started work again at least part time (I would have to interview for and get a job) which is not easy even when you’re not pregnant.

So to be honest lots of things count against it. But now I have the pregnancy hormones and I know that I always wanted 3DC but just did not envisage having the third now. I also had several miscarriages before DC1 and invetween DC 1 and 2 and I fear that now is my last chance (I am 38.)

DH is saying “go for it,” probably because none of the work is his. I am thinking of putting together a list of conditions he needs to meet for me to go ahead with the pregnancy.

What do you all think? I am only 5wks pregnant. I have never had an abortion - what’s the earliest stage I could have it?

You can terminate now if you want to.

Have the talk with him. My DH had specific jobs to do with the baby. Men need lists. Make a list of what you want him to agree to be responsible for (like taking care of most tasks for the older ones) and see what he says.
