Medical abortion (pills)

Hi everyone
I need some help and advice here as im totally freakin out 😓
Ive got a medical (pill) termination booked for next week and im absolutely terrifed of the proceedure. Im guessing ill be 6 weeks at the time. It'll be the same day procedure and I think I just get sent home straight after 2nd dose of pills. Im really worried about how much blood i will pass and whether i will be able to cope with it physically as ive heard its horrendous?! 😓

Ive only opted for the pills over surgical as i want to get it done ASAP and the thought of having to wait another couple of weeks will just kill me.

I will need to be back at work 48hrs later in a physically demanding job (i have no choice believe me)

Please don't judge me as i was using protecting properly but it failed and i am in no financial situation to support a child.
Please help calm me down with your positive stories and what to expect xxx

Do you feel you could talk to us on here? If you have no outside support it may help clear things off your mind if you just write things down on here?

We'll support you, I havn't been through this personally but I can't imagine how much it's on your mind

X

Op, please only go ahead with this is you are sure. Don't go ahead with the abortion if you are not certain. Hope you are okay Flowers

Have you planned anything for the weekend?

Teddy7878 · 04/11/2017 09:27

I've had one and the pain was bad for 24 hours (codeine helped and even though it was really painful it wasn't unbearable) and then just felt like a normal heavy period after that.
The feeling of relief was massive for me once it was done as I really didn't want to carry on with the pregnancy.
One thing to prepare yourself for - activists standing outside the clinic being arseholes. I had some telling me I was a murderer who would go to hell. Not what you need during such a difficult time!
Wishing you luck

Thanks everyone for your kind messages. Been keeping myself busy today and even forgot i was pregnant for a short while. I cant believe i only have 2 more days in which to make the biggest decision of my life. How on earth do people decide??? One minute im thinking yeah i reckon i could do this, yet on the other hand the thought of having a screaming toddler or a miserable teenager just repulses me!!! I never imagined or thought id ever be a mum but now im worried i might miss out??? X

I haven’t been in this situation personally but I’ve got a few friends that have been through this, they did say the first 24 hours is painful and emotionally draining but they got through it and so will you. This doesn’t mean you’ll miss your chance at all!!! There is always time, and if right now isn’t the right time you can’t beat yourself up over it.

You have every right to make this decision based on any factors, financial, emotional, physical - it’s your body and your life.

You have to do what’s right for you. You need to not over think this, millions of women all over the world face the same situation everyday. If you don’t have anyone to speak to before or after everyone on this thread is here in support or you could look into some free counselling (I talk) they won’t judge they’ll just help you talk about how you’re really feeling.

I hope all goes well, try to keep as occupied as possible and try not to google horror stories of the procedure you’ll just work yourself up. Good luck Flowers

Please don't worry. Hundreds of women every day in this country go through it and they all survive and move on with their lives.
It's going to be like really bad period pain but after 24-48 hours you'll be absolutely fine and it will become a distant memory x

Update
All done. Seen first thing at 9am. The nurses and clinic were lovely. So understanding and supportive. Nowhere near as bad as I thought. Anyone else going through this need not worry xxx
