I'm booked to have surgical removal on Wednesday but I've got myself into a state that I'm going to end up with an incompetent cervix post surgery and I desperately want to try for another child.

When a midwife explained the procedure it sounded horrifying so i pressed for surgery. Then someone kindly on here gave me their own experience and it sounded better than I thought.

I'm 16 weeks, baby is measuring small though and has Edwards Syndrome so it's a termination for medical reasons.

I've just read a harrowing story through the BBC website and now I'm back to thinking I'd rather go the surgical route 🤦🏻‍♀️
I feel like I'm flip flopping between mental trauma and physical trauma and I'm trying to work out which would be best.

I don't really have any advice as such I'm afraid. I'm currently looking at methods of different contraception but each seems to come with a different horror story of what someone has been through. I guess what I'm tryptophan say is that unfortunately when it comes to our choices in life, everything has risks. It's horrible trying to work out the right choice that won't impact us too detrimentally, when really we don't know.

I has a surgical termination at 9w some years ago. Obviously earlier than where you are now, so as a non medical I don't know what that means about the risks, but in my case it was quick and painless with no negative impact.

What advice were you given when your pushed for surgical?

Sorry that your going through such an awful time BrewCakeFlowers
