Hi I'm in need of support and advice, I have just found out I'm approx 12 weeks pregnant by a friend who I have been having casual sex with, I already have a daughter from a previous relationship and I am a single mother, the dad wants me to have an abortion as he already has 6 children I am not sure if I am physically kill a human being, he says it will break us as friends and he will have nothing to do with the baby, I love this guy but clearly he doesn't feel the same, if I abort I don't think I could deal with it emotionally and I'm likely to loose him either way, I think my baby's life is more important to me, any advice would be helpful as I can't stop falling apart every time i think about it

You don't need to tell him at the moment I think you need to stop worrying about what he says, does, thinks and focus on yourself. He isn't much of a friend really is he so forget thinking about him. Good that you hae real life support from genuine friends 💐

Thankyou 2014newme you are of course right however he thinks I'm getting rid and is even wishing me well for the proceedings I feel I should put him straight

Might be easier to cut contact and let him think that to give u peace. But if he's in it friend group, iguess it doesn't have to be to his face a message would do as he's gonna stop being it friend anyway. U owe him nothing

Put yourself first in any contact with the guy. And don't discuss it. You have made your decision. And good luck with everything x

He doesn't need to know anything right now...focus on you and how feel while you proceed with the pregnancy. He's got no right at all telling you to abort, or even to who you can talk to about the baby.

"It's not a baby though it's a foetus."

If we are being pedantic, it is actually a fetus (foetus comes from an incorrect derivation from the Latin), and fetus is only the term for the particular gestational stage of the unborn baby (about 8 weeks until term). "Baby" has been used to describe a fetus since the 1600s. Do you correct people who say they have a tummy ache with "It's not your tummy though, it's your abdomen."?

OP, I wouldn't rush to tell him (although I would at some point) because telling him is going to make no difference to the practicalities and might make things a bit harder for you in the short term.

A friend would not encourage someone who wanted to keep their baby to abort. I hope your other friends can rally round and support you now. Good luck and congratulations!

It's you're decision, not his.

I wouldn't tell him anything.

Well he sounds like a gem... You are best off well clear of him. You sound lovely OP. It sounds like you know what you want to do, and that you are strong enough. Good luck Cake
