Cornual pregnancy, surgery, recovery and ttc

Just over a week ago I had open surgery (similar to c-section) to remove a Cornual pregnancy and my right fallopian tube. I was just wondering if anyone has recently had a similar experience and would be interested to know what information your doctor gave you regarding ttc afterwards. What kind of recovery time are you expecting before being allowed to ttc. My doctor initially said 6 months then it changed to 1 year but I'm wondering if anyone has conceived before the 1year mark and all been OK.

So sorry for your loss and I hope you're recovering well. A friend had this last year. She found it hard emotionally for a while and worried about her future fertility.

She was advised to put ttc on hold for 4 months post op, and fell pregnant again 6 months later. No problems with the pregnancy but did require a c-section due to the risk of uterine rupture.

I think with this kind of procedure, it really would depend on the surgery required as to who long you are advised to wait before ttc again.

I had a ruptured cornual pregnancy and nearly died, in a stump left after previous tube removal.
I was advised to wait 6 months post surgery to TTC, and conceived 8 months post surgery (via IVF). I had to deliver via section, but post section was told I'm fine to VBAC if I want in future.

It all depends on the exact location of your scar and the damage done, best chat to your consultant.
