Cornish pasties and roast beef. Don't normally like meat but I loved it when I was pregnant. As I hoped - had a boy!

My craving is chrunchy peanut butter on a digestive biscuit. yummy

grommit · 03/06/2003 15:50

I am also craving peanuts (Dry Roasted) but Doc told me not to eat ...

I have craved nuts with all my pregnancies and if I had only been pregnant 10 years ago it would not be a banned food.

My craving is Sushi and Miso soup or fresh pineapple. Cheap and easily available then

Oh yeah and I know sushi is on the list on 'ermm..not sure about that' so I've only had it twice and I could go for it every day.

am i being wrong by eating peanuts then
was unaware they were not allowed

Rachael, there is some debate over whether eating peanuts when pregnant leads to a nut allegery (which can be very serious) in the unborn child.

I think that it is generally adviced that you should avoid nuts if there are known nut allergys in your family, and there are very strong ones in mine. If there is no history of such allergies in your family then I think that it is up to you whether you want to eat them, and in what quantities.

Here is a discussion on some of the reasons why.

But as I said if there is no history of allergies then you probably don't have anything to worry about!

Pizzas! Which is really weird because the thought and smell of tomato or pizza made me wretch during my last pregnancy. I also crave soups - any soups - miso, noodle, chicken, beef. I think I'm really weird because I'm cold and have the chills during my first trimester.

With DD it was jam sponge & custard, put on rather a lot of weight. DS it was extra strong mints but felt a bit odd if I had too many in a short space of time so had to limit myself to a pack a day.

bron, make up one of those pate bags for me too will you????

I'm would give anything for some pate about now.

meanmum · 08/06/2003 22:08

No cravings yet with this pregnancy and none to speak of with ds either. Was intending to cook a really nice dinner the other night but thought of a bacon sandwich and couldn't get it out of my mind so had those instead. Weren't as good as my imagination though so haven't craved them since.

I was put off everything except fruit for the first trimester with ds but as yet no sick feelings and still managing my coffee and peanut butter which I love normally. Hate the thought of not being able to eat it for fear of vomiting.

I drink 4 pints of full fat milk a day. Is my baby in fact a calf?

KMS · 08/06/2003 23:20

strawberries and lots of cream!!

crazynow · 09/06/2003 02:30

I have a thing for stirfrys and red meat(I didn't like red meat before the pg), but nothing wierd.

My sisters friend had a craving for coal, but never ate it. When the baby was old enough to crawl, she wouldn't keep away from the coal!
