my dh is being a total ass, he thinks it cant be that painful, if only he knew how painful it bloody was!

the pain is unbearable, and no1 is listening to me...

get the to an osteopath it really really helped me, you need to check when you phone up that they have got the extra qualification to treat pregnant women, not all of them do.

An ice pack (value frozen peas) in the correct place helps reduce the inflammation too. It's torture isn't it.

mama2leah I had this with my second pg form around 27/28 weeks - I talked to my midwife about it and she arranged for me to see a physiotherapist who gave me a support-belt which helped for a while. Not sure how much that would benefit you as don't know how far along you are.

Mine started at 16 weeks the 2nd time around, was about 20 weeks! The only real treatment is rest, rest, rest to stop aggrevating the problem and to let the inflammation reduce as it's the inflammation that cause the pain.

My midwife told me it was "sciatica" and I just had to "deal with it". I spent 3 weeks in agony, got very low and developed a chest infection (I am sure this was because I was used to walking 4/5 miles every day and I had to stop and basically become housebound and all my endorphins stopped).

Went to the doctor - he told me it was "backache" and all pregnant women get it. I left the surgery and burst into tears.

Then, by chance, my regualr midwife was on holiday and I saw a different one who gave me a big hug as soon as she saw me hobbling into the room, told me I was a martyr and got me a referral to see an obstectric physio within 3 days.

I was assessed, given some very basic advice (KEEP YOUR LEGS TOGETHER!), a support belt and some crutches. Within a week I felt 100% better and can now walk for 30 minutes.

If you haven't got a referral yet - push for one. There are things that can help and you need to plan your labour.
