Taking antibiotics (Klacid) during pregnancy?

Hello. I have just discovered that I'm pregnant (2 days post missed period), but have been taking Klacid (Clarithromycin) for the past six days. Googling indicates that the risks to the foetus are pretty high. Has anyone any experience of this?? I have an appointment with my OBGYN tomorrow morning.

Did you get any answers from your doctor about klacid in early pregnancy? The same happened to me.

Im not a doctor, but I was taking this antibiotic for 7 days ( from 4 days before due date) then i miscarried.

So please dont take them there are other antibiotics that can be used instead of Klacid (clarithromycin) for example amoxicillan.

sorry from 4 days before my due PERIOD date, not birth date, so very very early.

The same thing has just happened to me. I stopped taking them 6 days before my period was due, and i miscarried (after 10 days pregnancy). I was taking them when i conceived though, because i took them for 2 weeks for a very bad ionfection.

I took Clarithromycin for 6 days for a bronchial infection before discovering that I was pregnant, at about 5 weeks and 3 days. No miscarriage yet but I'm terrified about congenital anomalies in the fetus. Am waiting for a toxicology report from my ob/gyn. Would be very interested to know what your doctor said.

Hi,

I wanted to know whether everything went fine with your pregnancy and if bb was ok! I am 5 weeks prenant and 2 weeks ago was prescribed Klcid 500 mg for 7 days. I was not sure I was pregannt but mentionned to my Dr. that it might be and he said : fine , no pb!!

Now, my obstetrician says the opposite and is requesting Pharmacological analysis. I am so worried and don't know to which extent I can believe this analysis or anything!!

Thank you
