As above, I'm 31 weeks and 3 days. Have had a fairly small bump all the way through this pregnancy and midwives have said baby is measuring a couple of weeks behind on dates but as she is getting bigger at each visit they are not too concerned.

This week though it seems like my bump has shrunk !! It looks more like I was at around 5 months but don't see how this can be possible. Baby is moving around so I am not too worrid about that but am getting paranoid that something might not be quite right.

Hubby has noticed the difference too but he thinks I am worrying over nothing. Got a midwife appointment a week on Thursday when I will be re-measured.

Has anybody else experienced this ??

Maybe the baby has changed position? Was it head down or head up at your last appt? If it has turned over and dropped a bit, that can make a real difference to the shape of the bump - I suddenly found I could breathe much better in the later stages and didn't get indigestion as the baby had dropped into my pelvis more and off my lungs/stomach area.

I don't think a baby can shrink, so I wouldn't worry too much, the only other thing I can think of is if you've lost your waters, have you had any leakage or wetness? If so then do call the hospital for a checkup, but if not I suspect the baby has just shuffled into a different position.

Hi, her head was down at last appointment but not engaged so that could be possibility. I assumed it was too early for that but maybe not

I haven't had any leakage as I'm really paranoid about checking because I am a carrier of Strep B so have to be careful about my waters breaking.

Thank you for your advice x

I woke up one day with DD1 and she had noticably dropped. It was very strange, one day I had a bump that acted like a shelf for my bust, and the next it had shunted right down into my pelvis. I was hoping that it meant that I'd go into labour soon, but no such luck.

This happened to me and wasn't picked up until 38 wks, my waters had been very slowly leaking away and baby was very small because of it.

If it's definitely not your waters then I don't know, but I wouldn't wait a week to be checked- get in straight away.

Hiya i can remember at around 28-30 weeks hubby saying to me, u dont look as big today as u did yesterday, i actually felt a difference too, but i think it was down to the way baby was lying i think sumtimes u look bigger than otha times depending on how baby is positioned, try not to worry hun!!

Like freshhellisthis says i dont think baby can shrink and im sure she is fine, but if u are worried and want to put ya mind at rest you can alwys ring midwife and explain your concern.

Love Shell and baby bump xxx

This happened to me at around that time - DD was a wriggly little thing and she'd just rolled herself into a tight little ball on the day that my bump was measured. My bump was fairly small throughout too. The midwife said to wait till the next appointment to see if the bump was back to "normal" and it was. She would have sent me for tests if it hadn't been bigger again. So, hopefully you'll be back up where you should be on your next appointment x

I'm 31 weeks pregnant but my baby's weight is 1813g. Midwife says baby's weight is more. I don't have diabetes as well. I don't know what's the reason behind this. I am getting stressed about this.

I'm 29 weeks and my baby's head is engaged 3/5 so it's not too early 🙂 x
