Is it true or just an old wives' tale?

I'm 19 weeks and my bump is quite high, starting under my boobs. The other day I met a bunch of mums and they all said, oh it's a boy because your bump is high not wide. I must have looked a bit because they went on to insist that it really was true among all their friends. I can think of no greater place than here to find out the truth...

In my case it was the opposite. With DS my bump was wide, looked like he was lying across my hips and with DD my bump was sticking out more but I had nothing on my sides. Even had a waist!

Old wives tale but true for me! DD was wide and all over, DS high and sticky-out

I had two high and sticky out bumps and I have two DDs. So completely the opposite.

with ds i was carrying quite low and told i was neat, but looking back on photos i wasnt neat at all lol

In each of my pregnancies, people have said

"it's a boy because you're carrying all at the front and very high"

and

"its a girl because you're carrying all at the front and very high"

I carried all three children exactly the same. I have two girls and a boy.

I guess 50% of the people who tell you what you're having will be right

so much so that I didn't look pregnant from the back almost the whole way through

True for me both times.

Apparently too if your urine is dark then its also a boy.

Ah sod it just ask at the scan

My reply when people kept telling me that it must be a boy/girl because of whatever was, I'd say it's a boy due to his clear bits on the scan!

I have had five babies.

all carried differently

and last one especially was high, meaning everyone insisted I was having a girl.

he was a boy

t'others were 3 girls first, then two boys.

not one of them were the same shape!
