Hello,

I'm only 4 days over now and I have 2 other DC to keep me occupied, but all I can think about is when is this one coming?

I have finished my to do list and cleaned the house.

I spend my evenings absently watching TV and on here.

How are you taking your minds off the big day?

Mmm this Crunchie Blast ice cream is going down a treat!

I am only 1 day overdue, but basically I'm not keeping my mind of it at all, its really doing my head in not knowing when its going to be. Instead of leaving things to do until later I am always thinking better do it now just in case.... The thought that it could still be another 2 weeks is driving me crazy!

ChocEclair · 03/04/2009 20:35

Oh hello MissTFied, I'll join you in the insanity!

I'm currently 40+6 and am slowly going completely mad! This is my first as well so have no other dc to occupy me!

So far today I have cleaned the leather sofa, hoovered the downstairs, sorted out the baby clothes (again!), repacked my hospital bag, dusted the lounge, cleaned out the hamster cage...erm and watched TV absently as well! I'm going to watch Mission Impossible III at 9pm. Just had a nice fruit salad.

Been to see mw and everything is absolutely fine but baby shows no sign whatsoever of wanting to come out yet!!! Grrrr.........

MissTFied · 03/04/2009 20:40

Do you know what? Since posting I am now experiencing slight period type pains!

Now I'm thinking, hmmm be careful what you wish for!

as someone that went insane going two weeks overdue - I recommend you sleep your way through the last few days, when the baby is here you'll be so glad that you did.

Have lots of "you time"... and wear all your white/light clothes and jewellery as much as possible.

mathshoneybunny27 · 04/04/2009 20:57

I am 40+2 and physically great..just the mental torture then. For once in my life I am finding hard to concentrate on reading, even really great books...Any more suggestions wise MNers?

CookieMonster2 · 04/04/2009 20:58

MissTFied, I don't want to make you feel worse about this, but for the last 3 weeks (on and off) I have had mild period type pains, stomach cramps, and currently have what I would describe as severe period pains, and it always just dies away leaving me really angry and frustrated.
However, having said that, your posting was 24 hours ago so you might be in hospital as a type!

MissTFied · 04/04/2009 21:03

Hello CookieMonster2 - not in hospital, am right here! Yes, those period pains came and went and came again this morning at about 3-4am, made my toes curl!

And rebee, I am sleeping every possible spare moment. It's all I can do! I don't want to be exhausted when the time comes.

Actually, have just started a slim book this afternoon. Might help to distract me a bit.

hi fellow insane mum's to be!

Wondering if anyone has had a baby yet?????

I'm 40+8 today and just off for Stretch and sweep! I'm quite nervous actually - some people say it hurts like mad and others say it's just uncomfortable! I guess compared to what's to come it won't be too bad though!

reebee - I cannot even imagine going 2 weeks over - think I could have murdered DP by then! lol!

MissTFied · 05/04/2009 22:05

Hello ChocEclair,

I was wondering the same thing. I am still here (7 days tomorrow and will be having 2 nd sweep).

I went overdue by 11 days with my second DC.

How did the sweep go? Any niggles now? My sweeps have never been overly uncomfy. In fact, I'd like the midwives to have a really good go to set me off!

Yesterday I planted some strawberries and sunflower plants, but spent the rest of the day sleeping.

Have you been up to anything particularly diverting? Might help me!

ChocEclair · 06/04/2009 10:03

hey there misstfied - gardening sounds lovely. Very diverting/distracting!

Hi also to Maths and cookie! Hope at least one of us in labour!

I'm still here! (40+9) At least I don't feel like I'm on my own

MW couldn't even do the sweep yesterday as my cervix was too high, so she has booked an induction for weds 9am (40+11). I have more or less been up all night worrying about everything that might happen, but I am trying to take on board lots of advice that once baby is here I won't care HOW or HOW LATE!!!

I have no niggles or anything - head not even engaged! lol! I reckon I am going to have a very laid back baby - hope so!

I think I am going to have a DVD day today as I ordered Quantum of Solace and it came this morning! Yesterday we had relatives visiting so believe it or not I was actually playing crazy golf, had a '99' ice cream and walked about 1 1/2 miles on the promenade!

lol! And I'm still not in labour! ...

mathshoneybunny27 · 06/04/2009 14:26

Well I'm in labour...but its S L O W

Be careful what you wish for

ChocEclair · 06/04/2009 16:57

Oh well done Maths!

........Is it THAT bad then??????????????

mathshoneybunny27 · 06/04/2009 17:51

nope, just stop.start.....frustrating

and of course quite painful...

MissTFied · 06/04/2009 21:30

Oh sorry for not checking this during the day maths - I tend to come here in the evenings.

How are you getting on? Are you still around? Oooh good luck!

Poor you choceclair - not being able to have your sweep. I am 40 + 7 today and had my second sweep today. MW said I was not much different to when she gave me one last week.

I am 3/5 engaged though. I am booked in for an induction next Tues but I really hope it doesn't get to that.

How do you feel about your induction for Weds?

Good for you having a stroll along the promenade and playing crazy golf!

I wonder if cookiemonster has produced yet?

ChocEclair · 08/04/2009 08:37

Right ladies - 40+11 here and off for induction this morning!

Wishing you all good luck with your over due babies as well! However they all come out.....

jbakedbean · 08/04/2009 17:24

I'm 40 + 6 and have managed to keep myself very occupied until today, feel fit and healthy but today I'm very weepy and I've just had enough, it's the not knowing and I feel for all the above. My last midwife was on the 1st of april, and i'm not seeing her again until the 13th for the sweep. think this is a little odd as i thought it was weekly after 40 weeks, I feel i need some reassurance all is normal, the head is fully engaged and has been for 2 weeks, apart from a few period pains nothing to report.

call me selfish but my friend who is due 6 days after me, so about now has her sweep about the same time as me, and part of me feels really jealous if she goes into labour before me,

I know it's bad but i feel i've done my time and its not fair,

think the hormones are turning me into a 10yr old brat.

I wish you all luck,
