I am 6.4 today and i know i'm tired because of this but i'm also waking up at stupid times like 4.10, 5.30, 4.15 to name the last few night and cannot get back to sleep. alram goes off at 6.30, so combined with being preg tired i'm and in a viciuos circle! I go bed early cos i'm tired and then wake up early too! if i do make my self do something till say 9.30 or 10pm then i still wake up at silly oclock! Its really getting me down

can anyone tell me if i can take kalms or nightol during preg or should i see doc?

You can't take either as far as I know but I have every sympathy for you. When I first found out I was pregnant with DS2 I couldn't sleep for a couple of weeks. I even went to the doctor to see if there was anything I could take as I was so desperate but there wasn't ...

It was awful I was sooo tired and nauseaous and yet had raging insomnia which made it all a hundred times worse.

It did pass though and as someone who has suffered with insomnia on and off for several years, for the rest of the pregnancy I've been sleeping better than I have done in a long long time.

So, I have no real advice other than it's probably just a phase. All the usual hot milky drinks, bath etc never did anything for me. It was just the passing of time and getting my head around being pregnant again (had a very traumatic birth with DS1 so I was very scared when I actually got pregnant again) which knocked it on the head and gave me a decent night sleep.

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and sending you good sleep vibes for tonight.

Hi there - no advice but I feel for you. I feel I haven't slept since November - waking up at stupid o'clock and lying there with eyes wide open until I give in and get up.

Hope it passes soon...

26 weeks and have had the same problem since abou 12 weeks, for me it's around 3.30 ever morning then can't sleep. Only thing that sometimes works is a bath before bed.

So tired in work some days I could cry...will all be worth it when baby comes...

thanks for advice, I can only hope it passes then, or maybe get an early morning hobbie! I have just woken up from about a 1 hour nap on and off so might last longer till bedtime tonight, hey ho, time will tell,

I bought a pregnancy relaxation and meditation cd on Ebay which i have found really helpful, now if i wake during the night i just listen to the cd on my ipod which helps me relax and doze back of to sleep.

I had acupuncture the other evening for my nausea and waking and I've felt much better ever since. last night I slept straight through from 10 - 7! Unheard of before! I'm 8wks.
Acupuncturist said that your brain is so busy making the baby that any other stimulus can be too much, hence you wake up maybe following a vivid dream. then your thoughts are so strong and rushing that you can't sleep again.
I have to say I was quite sceptical (but desperate) but it was well worth it.
