I need some advice. I have name changed as I feel like if I post in a different name it's not really real IYSWIM.

I'm on the pill and due my period now. It usually starts pretty heavy then tails off. But yesterday and today I've had what I can only describe as very similar to a show. Which is puzzling me as it isn't normal for me.

DS2 is only just 3 months old so I don't want to be pregnant yet.

Not even sure why I am typing this out, but it feels better to tell someone as I don't want to worry DH.

Thanks.

Well I can understand you don't want to be pregnant, but if you were, if you knew for definite, how would you feel? Is there anything other than the age of your youngest that's making you feel that you don't want to be?

ridingjoker · 22/03/2009 18:29

common to have eratic periods so soon after cb

worriedaboutpg · 22/03/2009 18:32

It's not common to have erratic periods while on the pill though. It's normally like clockwork.

It's DS2's age that is the big problem. If I am pg then DC3 will be due 3 weeks before DS2 is 1.

by a show do you mean a large blot clot? sorry if its TMI but lots of women continue to pass clots for months after birth. anyway, you have to use protection from as soon as you start having sex after pregnancy.

worriedaboutpg · 23/03/2009 07:36

We have been using protection. I am on the pill.

No it wasn't a large blood clot. It was like clear jelly like stuff with blood streaks in it.

did you lose some mucus? blood streaked?

it might be your periods are just a bit different after you have had a baby

is this your first since the birth?

if you have been taking hte pill correctly, thne chances of pregnancy are low

if you are due, you can test, which should give an accurate result

worriedaboutpg · 23/03/2009 07:39

No this will be my second since the birth. I've been taking the pill correctly.

It was blood streaked mucus. I am really worried.

is it the combined pill or mini-pill? mini-pill can really really screw up your cycle. agree with Lulu - it's pretty unlikely you are PG, but test to find out one way or the other.

TotalChaos · 23/03/2009 07:45

btw is this your first period since starting on the pill?

worriedaboutpg · 23/03/2009 07:46

Combined pill. I'm not BF so it was just the normal pill and it is my second period since starting the pill.

the best thing to do is test.

it is most unlikely you are pregnant, but you need to know for sure

it is likely this period is just a but of a funny one, rather than you are pregnant, but i can;t guarantee that

if you are pregnant you need to know sooner rather than later

TotalChaos · 23/03/2009 11:49

agree with Lulu. I have had the odd light period or late starting period when on the combined pill for no apparent reason, it can happen. but best to test and hopefully set your mind at rest.

worriedaboutpg · 23/03/2009 14:31

I got a negative test so not pg. Hopefully my period will put in an appearence soon.

great. hope you feel better !

worriedaboutpg · 24/03/2009 09:46

My period has arrived, only 3 days late. I am very very relieved. But part of me feels a bit sad. But we will definetly not be ttc until DS2 is at least 2.
