Anyone else have this mid-pregnancy? Some days I feel absolutely huge and then the next day it just looks like I've overdone it at lunch... Anyone else have a bump that comes and goes? I keep worrying that something's wrong.

i was exactly the same, depends on how baby is lying and how much water youve got and stuff nothing to worry about though, i didnt get a proper always visible bump til about 25/26 weeks, im 36 now and it still has its big and little days! only thing to watch out for is your fluids, if you have any clear leakage get it checked out, could be a tear in your water membranes, thats what they thought i had but turned out to be thrush with lots of discharge lol! can explain when your bump shrinks when fluid is lost around baby but ive never heard that happen as early on as you are.

if youre stressing mention it to midwife and she might send you to labour ward for monitoring and a cuscoe or they can do you a scan to check the fluid, just for your peace of mind stressed mummies arent good for babies bet they think im a proper hypochondriac at hospital i ring in over the smallest thing but its for the best if youre worried xx

LBOT,

I really believe a lot of it is down to how the baby is lying. Especially if it's going up and down in size as opposed to staying down in size...

If it's gone small and stayed small, then maybe Lauren's theory about losing fluid may be relevant, but if it's still going up and down it's more likely baby position. Remember that if bubba decides to move around and have it's back against your back, you won't see as much at the front (IYSWIM), so try not to panic too much. Right up until 20 weeks or so, I had a bump all the time, then suddenly mine would change in size aswell.

I'm now 28 weeks and look full-term (as my DSis noted when I saw her last week - ).

I'm sure you and bubba are fine.

xxx

thanks, I saw the midwife this morning (regular appointment) and she said same as you! Likely just the baby changing position, which for some reason, I hadn't really considered.

Thank you both!
