Hiya, Im just look for advice really.

I am planning on having a natural home birth this time round and want to be prepared as possible.

Im thinking of maybe using Hypnobirthing and/or Active Birthing.

Does anyone know of or have any good books/cds I could use?

Any advice/tips would be so appreciated!

Need all the help I can get!

Hi chocolatebunnies. I want a home birth too, and am just a few weeks further on than you with my pregnancy. I am reading 'Childbirth Without Fear' by Grantly Dick-Read. So far finding it very interesting and I have heard great things about it Sadly my hopes of a home birth are subject to review at the moment, but I am still hoping

I'm doing a Marie Mongon Hypnobirthing course atm and would recommend it. Listen to the CD in bed at night and generally feel more relaxed about my birth. (Hopefully a home water birth if all goes to plan.)

I'm using the CD "Effective Home Birth Preparation" which I bought on Amazon. It is really good and has 2 different sections, a lighter 10 minute relaxation session then a longer deeper session.

I just finished reading Marie Mongan's HypnoBirthing book. It's pretty good, especially regarding specific relaxation & visualisation techniques.

I have been listening to the relaxation part of the CD that comes with it, and have no idea what it says after the first minute or so, because I always fall asleep. Probably listening to it at some level, because I waen wake up at the very end to hear it say "Now wake up, feeling relaxed" etc.

Thanks for all your response.

Luckily someone on my antenatal thread is going to be posting me the NCT one, so hopefully I'll be able to get stuck into that soon.

Wheres the best place to get the books from??
