Anyone else completely wiped out by a glucose tolerance test?

Firstly, thank you to all those who replied to my earlier GTT panic post. It actually wasn't that bad even though they made me drink Lucozade and took SEVEN blood tests.

But the aftermath of it has been vile - feel really wiped out and basically slept all afternoon (of course I ate a generous lunch straight after the test - it wasn't that I carried on starving myself or anything mad like that). I still don't feel completely normal now, though better for a while immediately after eating and drinking. Is this normal?

I had the test done and felt fine but a friend of mine felt as you have described.
I think it effects everybody different.
When do you get your results?

I think so. You were starved of all calories, then you had a massive dose of pretty much pure sugar. Eating will have helped stabilise your blood sugars a bit more. but the aftermath is that you're basically coming down from a high.

I felt like that when I had it with my first pregnancy - you're not alone!

Oh that's a relief to know. May get my results at my appointment tomorrow if they're ready in time, apparently. I was kind of expecting to feel moderately rubbish all afternoon, but this was unbelievable.

I (unofficially because a doctor hasn't signed off on the results) DON'T have gestational diabetes.

Big celebrations in the Boring household tonight.
