Hi, I'm 12 weeks preg, and feeling soooooo ill. I seem to have every symptom going, with the morning (all day) sickness, trapped wind, heartburn, stomach aches and constipation being the worst. But the really weird and grim bit is excess saliva production. It happens when ever I retch, and also from about 4pm onward, all night. I have to keep spitting in to a cup, and when I sleep, my pillow is drenched. (Constantly swallowing it consciously is worse than spitting it).
Has anyone else had this? I feel like a freak, and I'm struggling with feeling so crap. Sorry to moan, I don't know who else to talk to!

Hi, I've had this in both pregnancies. It's called pytalism. I remember being in car parks and having to spit before I got into the car - very un-ladylike but it was normally at night and dark. It used to be worse at night and even after brushing teeth, had to take some tissues into bed with me to spit into them. I don't remember ever making my pillow wet so you maybe have it worse than me. It does pass - brushing my teeth used to make me gag badly and thankfully that passed. Hope it goes soon. Cx

I have had it from 12 weeks(18wks now),its gross i have to carry a towel round to spit in constantly otherwise i dribble.Have found chewing gum really helps.People look at me like a weirdo as they have never heard of it but just found out my aunty had it too,but only in her 3rd PG like me.I struggle to get to sleep because of it but once asleep it switches off till i wake up again.

Yup - but at night times only since about 30 weeks (now 38 weeks). I get woken up by drool! Had it with my last pregnancy and thank god it disappears when you give birth...
