Should I get swollen legs checked out at 39 weeks, or is it all just the strain of the pg?

Not had a problem with this before that I can remember, maybe puffy feet towards the very end of Dd1's pg, but no on this scale.

I have pitting oedema all the way up my thighs which has come on over the last 2 days. I'm 39+1 and not due to see the m/w until next wed.
I don't know whether it's just the strain of the final few days or something to be concerned about.

What do you think?

get checked - give mw a call. She'll prolly want some wee off you.

Most likely to be nothing but could also be sign of pre eclampsia so worth checking

I would definitely get it checked.

Thanks for the replies.

Been to GP, BP is raised for me, but no protein in urine, which is good, so I'm going back on Friday to get it checked again.

I thought that resting last night and lying with legs elevated would've taken some of the swelling down but it hasn't.
I've had to wear Uggs all day because my shoes are too tight
I had put on 4lb's from Tuesday to Wednesday!

I do sweat all the excess out over the space of the first month after delivery, so it should hopefully go.

I had comically swollen legs and feet from around 38 weeks with DS. Funnily enough I found sitting with feet up actually made it worse -- the only thing that improved it was going for a walk.

m/w coming tomorrow to check on me. maybe it'll start me off
