i am currently on mat leave and had decided to extend this by another 6 months

i was a few days late so i did a test which came up negative so as i didnt think i could be pregnant i put in my carers leave request which has been accepted and all paperwork drawn up - person in my position has had her time extended

however i am now over a week late, have done a second test two days ago, still negative

getting niggling period type pains

but still no period

and currently into 10th month of bf and this would be my 3rd period

the chances of two negative tests being wrong are pretty slim arent they??? i would love another baby but not without the secondlot of mat pay - it would financially cripple us and i am left hoping i am and hoping im not at the same time

Tricky.

For what its worth, my periods didn't come back till DD was about 15 months. Pre-baby I was 27-28 days pretty regular. 1st one post-baby was 28 days. 2nd one 35. I took so many tests . DD is now 22 months, still BF, and the last one was just 25 days. Which is all rather annoying. Everything I've read says your cycles can be a bit erratic while your still BF so it may well just be the same for you.

I'd wait a few days and take another test. If that ones still -ve maybe talk to your GP. And try and find out what the options are with work - the paper work may be drawn up but that doesn't mean it can't be changed - CAB might be a good place to start.

Fingers crossed you get things sorted and its not too stressfull
