I just don't feel right

had a fairly warm bath this afternoon for half an hour or so.

Got out and felt sick and strange, not particularly dizzy but not 'all there'.

Went to collect DC's and everything started to fade and I had to shout my friend to catch me as I felt I was falling.

Got home and checked BP and it was fine.

Anyone else get like this?

Am 27 weeks today.

Low blood sugar or anemia seem like possible causes? Could you be coming down with a virus?

I am sorry that you are feeling rough and hope that you find out why asap so you can put an end to it.

I had this at a similar time (am now 34 weeks and not had an episode since). I was sat down, so hadn't even got up too quick and the room span, ears started to rush, felt totally spaced out. Went to bed, left DH to fend for himself, and was fine the next morning.

Mentioned it to MW and she said my BP was fine and just to tell her if it happened again.

thanks - I did$ $think low blood sugar so I had a couple of biscuits but still feel really odd. Don't think I'm anaemic, usually okay in this respect, but am due repeat blood tests next week so will see what they say.

I usually have high BP which is why I have a monitor at home, but when I took it when I felt really strange it was quite low for me but not low as readings go so I don't think it's that.

Could it be from lying on your back in the bath & baby's weight on your lungs, heart etc. restricting your breathing? I'm no medical expert but that's my guess.

It could be PM, it was definitely something to do with the bath as I felt fine before that- will have to stick to showers!

was it a fairly hot bath?

surprisenumber3 · 15/01/2009 16:18

yeah it was, I mean not dangerously hot for the baby but it was quite warm.

I had this last time round, a few times through the pregnancy. Can't really help as we never found out what it was but just wanted to reassure you it never went any further and DD is a happy 1 year old. Haven't had it this time round, I am 26 weeks but I wouldn't be surprised if they start up soon.

will probably just be the bath. I was never allowed baths when I was pregnant for that very reason......I faint easy after a hot bath when I am not pregnant......when I am pregnant, tis a bad combination (learnt that in my first pregnancy).

I would mention it at your next appointment, but assuming that you are ok now, and stay ok, it will most likely be just that.

thanks all, i feel a lot better now, just tired.
