Losing weight in pregnancy

Is it normal to lose rather than gain weight in pregnancy?

I'm 16 weeks, was 9st 13lb before I got pregnant. At 12 weeks I was 10st 3lb. Then I weighed myself a week ago and I'd dropped to 10st, then today I'm 9st 13 3/4 so basically back to my pre-pregnancy weight.

I don't have a huge bump unless I eat loads, and I still fit into all my jeans, sometimes with the help of an elastic band at the waist, but surely the baby/fluid etc must weigh soemthing at this stage? I do eat quite a bit, especially Pizza Hut as I work there, but I also walk a lot and run around at work for 5/6 hours at a time. Is this weight loss normal in the circumstances, or should I be worried?

yeah, and not only that. Our notes like a Encyclopedia as you Teenya said, but do they write anything in it?? nope. I am telling you: they do not care!

No, they ask me all kinds of silly questions and spend hours filling in paperwork - then forget to get my consent for blood tests. Then they find it impossible to get my blood group from my previous notes, rather than give me another blood test for it - I am needle phobic and am having the minimum of tests needed.

Thinking back to the care I received with ds, I might as well give birth at home and not tell them.

Back to the weight loss thing, I lost a stone and a half from week 9-16 due to hyperemisis.
DS is fine.

My notes were huge too, but the mws did write quite a lot in them, and I saw her every 4 weeks from 24 weeks, the fortnightly, then weekly from 34 weeks.

But I think I got a lot of "overlaps" as I was booked in out of area, and I think the hospital mw and community mw schedule were out of synch, so I got a few double up visits. None of the mws managed to diagnose that DS was back-to-back-footling-breeech though!
