Erm... stinky pee... just started at 32wks....anyone else?

Ok, sorry to have to post this question. The title says it all, really. I know that it is common for urine to be smellier in pregnancy, but mine has just got bad since last week. I mean REALLY strong smelling. Anyone else just get this in late pregnancy?

If it lasts a few days, might be worth talking to your midwife in case it's a sign of an infection? But I bet it's normal. x

could it be that your sense of smell is (even more) sensitive all of a sudden?

I would get it checked.

It could indicate a UTI or diabetes. Does it smell of anything inparticular?

Had MW appointment today and she checked my sample and says it is clear. Don't think it smells of anything in particular, just smells bad. DH even complains about it!

have you been eating aspaagus?

YES! had asparagus tonight for dinner, but that is the first time since before Christmas and it started last week. What has that got to do with it? Can u shed any more light on this, barbiehouse?

my piss smelt very odd quite early in pregnancy. I asked around (as you do) and discovered that all my pregnant friends had this. It smelt like erm, baby poo sort of. I think there is a sensible biological reason for this anomaly but for the life of me, I can't remember what it is.

Asparagus also does this though, and turns wee green.

Mine STINKS!!! But it started at about 8-9 weeks. I drink bucket loads but it still stinks and I don't know why

Asparagus always makes wee smell funny! Maybe you've upped your intake of other veg too?

Asparagus makes most peoples wee smell funny, it's the presence of methyl mercaptan. Check this out
