Chest infection and vomiting at 28 weeks

I am 28 weeks pg, and have been suffering from colds and flu for the past 2 months. I have not had a day when I feel properly well. For over 24 hours now I have been feeling truly awful - I can safely ssay I have never felt so ill. My lungs hurt when I breathe so I can only take shallow breaths, my nose is constantly running, I am sneezing every minute, I cannot lie down because I feel like I am choking as a result of the mucus in my chest. I did not sleep last night, and it looks like I won't tonight either. I have just had two serious bouts of multiple vomiting - I cannot even hold down water. I am truly miserable.
Doctor put me on amoxycilin this morning, and I called her this evening. She has reassured me that it is not pnemonia, just a chest infection. She does not know about the vomiting.
Anyone else had this, and what should I do? I feel incredibly weak and am shivering one minute and really hot the next.

Yuk, Isn't it horrid? Am also stuck in bed regretting not getting flu jab, normally have one but had been given the impression they wouldn't give it to you when pg. DS also had it but recovered in half the time, think it's the suppressed immune system in pregnancy. I've been given a steroid inhaler to bring down inflammation in lungs which I think might have helped me sleep a little last night - getting the same thing whenever I lie down. DH has had to go back to work today, have someone to look after DS for today, dreading the rest of the week though!

Get well soon everyone!

I really sympathise - I had the horrid flu bug and couldn't breathe properly for a week afterwards. Wishing you all better soon! x

Think I am over the worst of my flu bug now - have had it 1 week. But still feel exhausted and have horrible chesty cough/difficulty breathing when I lie down. How long is this likely to last for, does anyone know? Am fed up with being ill now ........... but thank goodness am over the worst of it,.... never want to repeat last weekend when I felt more ill than I have ever felt in my life.

Ive been suffering from chest infection since i got pregnant and have already had 3 lots of antibiotics! its something i cant seem to get rid off and it has my made feel awful throughout my whole pregnancy, im now 34 weeks and still have this dam cough! but the combination of indigestion and coughing and the baby putting pressure on your digestion tract means that you will vomit, i suggest you go to docters and get antibiotics, im sure they will help, unfortunately im alergic to penicillin thats why im still stuck with it!
