I was going to just go to my appointment and not mention a sweep but I just cried cause I feel so crap and the midwife said she thinks this baby is DS1-size ... 9lbs at 2 weeks late, but this baby is only just due so don't want her to cook anymore!!

Anyways I was 2-3 cm already when she examined me and she certainly gave a good sweep lol, she said 'if this doesn't get you going nothing will' and 'i think i just dialated you another 2cm'

She seemed to think if it does kick off it will be very fast!

Am having alot of pains, but cervix and back pain rather than contractions... so will just see what happens.

Has some 'show' too.

lol

Oooooh a Christmas baby

It'll be fine, the scariness will be forgotten once you are in the swing of things.

Good Luck

Oh memories! DS2 was due on 18th Dec and I asked for a sweep that day. I didn't feel too bad, but was just desperate for him to arrive before Christmas (would have been complicated with arrangments for DS1 and didn't want him having christmas birthday).

She took some persuading, but did the sweep and he arrived on 22nd. Phewww!

good luck!
