Anyone had 12 week scan at Warrington General?

Just wondering as something my midwife said has made me a little anxious. Formally Warrington don't as yet offer nuchal fold scan/bloods, thus 12 weeks scans are purely dating. Now this time (4th pregnancy) I'm opting out of all antenatal testing (nuchal, triple etc) although I did get the nuchal plus at Chester privately last time so know what it involves.
My midwife tells me that they do have a 'little look' at the neck though, and she's heard stories of women of women coming out having said they've had a big/small measurement. Now, leaving aside informed consent/ethical issues/level of experience of sonographer etc, this has made me more than a little anxious. Surely they either offer nuchal measurements or not? Should I say something before the scan or will they just look at me as if I'm mad???
Any advice would be appreciated! Already anxious after mmc in July, and this is something I could do without.

Anyone? Or if not some general advice?

Sounds like you had the same midwife I saw at 7 weeks!

I'm not booked into Warrington but it's sort of my closest hospital so that's where I went for a scan when I had a bit of spotting earlier in the pregnancy.

I mentioned I was going for a private nuchal fold scan at Chester and she seemed to think it was a waste of time and told me the sonographer would look at the neck anyway.

I did have my 12 week scan in Warrington with my first child but there was never any mention of her neck.

I wonder whether it's a case of not telling oyu if there's nothing abnormal to see? With my first child they spotted choroid plexus cysts at 20 weeks. The sonographer told me she wouldn't have highlighted this but for my age (I was 32). They had a policy of highlighting it if the mother was over 31.

If you really don't want to know then tell them not to report it beforehand. Whether they think you're mad or not doesn't matter.

However I'm wondering why you're opting out of tests if you've gone down the private route before? Are you just feeling differently about the risks now?

I ought to add that the nuchal fold scan revealed a high risk of DS. I had a low risk with my first child.

Initially I wished I'd never had the test at all but now I'm glad I did because I feel more informed and we've decided to have an amnio.

I really wasn't expecting to be in this position. I'm 36 (just!) and apparently only 1.5% of 36 year olds come away being told they are "high risk". You never think you'll be in that 1.5 %

I had a nuchal scan at Warrington. DS was born in March this year.
