Hope someone can give me some advice, I have been awake in the night with painful back ache which wouldnt ease no matter which way I laid.

I still have it this morning and it is very uncomfortable whether walking or sitting down! This is my 2nd pregnancy but I never had anything like this with my first one. Any ideas what it could be or how I can ease it??

Whereabouts in your back is the pain, mum2becks? Have you tried using a pillow to separate your legs while you lie on your side?

see an osteopath who specialises in pregnancy - really worth it

Hot water bottle and long hot baths (not usually recommended in pg I know but when desperate) work to ease mine, as do all the usual things eg, bending properly, getting out of bed properly etc, standing close to the buggy, not lifting anything. Ask your GP to refer you to a physio - they will usually try to see you asap when you are pg and can also help a bit over the phone. Plus your GP can prescribe a strong painkiller if paracetomal isn't working and it's safe at this stage of pg.

Best of luck, you have my sympathy, back pain in pg is no fun, especially when you have older children to run after.
