I know I am being one of those impatient newbies...but I just want to know when to expect it to happen!!! I am 14+4 so know its a little way off yet!

Thanks in advance!

Can't remember with my first pregnancy.

2nd pregnancy someone at creche didn't realise I was pregnant at 28 weeks!! So I guess not befre that

This pregnancy - currently 17 weeks and nothing to show for it!

Emma, i'm 21 weeks with my first baby.... and i too wanted to know when people first "showed" a while back, i asked my mum, friends etc.

The problem is "showing" is interpreted Differently. Showing can be looking a bit ROUND to yourself, or showing can be when you are obviously pregnant to someone who doesn't know you walking down the street. As opposed to looking a bit tubby

I was a size 6/8 before getting pregnant....but i'm quite tall, i then had SERIOUS morning sickness, so i was only a little over 7 stone at about 3 months. I thought my bump was never going to come and i was never going to feel pregnant. At 21 weeks now i am just Round, its not a definate bum, if i go swimming i FORCE it out further so i don't look just a little podgy in the tummy area My low jeans still fit fine, and everything else still does up, but when i sit down i un do the top button as it begins to dig in.

your bump will arrive with time, i feel like i have a little little bump- but nobody else would ever guess i am pregnant.

Congratulations on your pregnancy- but stop worrying & enjoy xxx

I bought maternity jeans yesterday for the first time and oh my goodnes how comfy are they???

I think everyone should have them, pg or not.

When I posted before I was saying I'm only 12 weeks but but recent scans said it is measuring a week ahead so I dont know if that makes a difference as I have definitely got a tummy now.

I bought a maternity top too to make me look more pg - at the moment I definitely just look podgy and am a bit overweight anyway so not feeling that self confident at the moment!

PavlovtheCat · 14/09/2008 11:00

oh, a vage bump at 12 weeks, then nothing until about 26 weeks

mybumpsaboy · 14/09/2008 12:08

hallo!! I'm 24 weeks & my bump is tiny!!! People who know I'm pregnant keep commenting that I don't look it at all...I think they think that's a compliment but it truly isn't!! I know all's fine with the LO but it would be nice to have some visible evidence soon

pgwithnumber3 · 14/09/2008 12:21

Strangely enough, I have got smaller bumps which each subsequent pregnancy. With DD1 I was showing very early, by 20 weeks, I was enormous, with DD2 I was showing by 20 weeks but was average but with DC3, I have a tiny bump at 20 weeks. Really strange!

kingrolo · 14/09/2008 15:49

mybumpsaboy - I know exactly what you mean. By 30 weeks I was sick of well meaning people at work telling me how 'tidy' the bump was or,even worse, that I didn't look pregnant at all. None of these people had EVER made comments about my weight / size pre-pregnancy!

I'm 35 weeks now though and you really couldn't mistake me for anything other than a very pregnant lady!

squatchette · 14/09/2008 17:01

All mine started to show around 5-6 months.
Saying that i had my 3rd 10 days ago and i've been asked at least 4 times who's is the baby? All by men i hasten to add .They all looked amazed when i said mine as they hadn't actualy noticed i was pregnant.
Ellora i was the same with my 1st and 3rd dds was so sick I ended up a stone lighter by the time i had them.Am eating for Britain now i've had no 3 must be the breastfeeding!

PinkyDinkyDooToo · 14/09/2008 20:31

With DS1 I think after 20 weeks. I certainly have holiday photos of me at 18 weeks in bikini with no visible bump.

oopsacoconut · 15/09/2008 14:58

I was 33 weeks - went into Labour ward for bleeding they refused to believe I was that far along as I didn't have a proper bump. I had left my maternity notes at home and had to send DH home to get them and they rang my mw to check I was right! Then I bigger but never HUGE which is why I was never desperate to get my baby out.

wasabipeanut · 15/09/2008 15:03

I think about 16 weeks or so - noticable to me at any rate. Was def noticable to others by about 20. Looked awful though - like I was wearing a rubber ring!

Then it gradually seemed to move into a proper big upfront bump! By the time ds was born I was absolutely huge and remember thinking "I can't believe I was in such a hurry to get a bump!"

emma2617 · 15/09/2008 16:05

haha!! I actually noticed the other day when I put my maternity jeans on (they were a present...given a tad too early!) I can make it up and down the stairs without them falling down which i couldnt doo 2 weeks ago so i think im getting wider...just no bump!! Although im solid if you poke!!

No proper bump till about c22 weeks. I got thicker round the middle, but not a real, strangers-automaticaly-give-you-seats-on-the-tube bump until then. Actually at 30 weeks I got sent for another scan because MWs were concerned that I was small for dates. Scan confirmed that hte bump was small, but fortunately baby was not.

Boobs on the other hand - upfront and expanding from about week 3!
