I’m wondering if anyone has had a Panorama NIPT done through My Baby Company and could share their experience, particularly if it was a positive one.
I went today to have my blood taken for the Panorama NIPT, but unfortunately they weren’t able to get enough blood after four attempts.
What made me a little concerned is that I’ve had blood tests done at several different places before and I’ve never had this happen. I’ve never previously been told that I’m particularly difficult to take blood from.
The member of staff at My Baby Company told me that my veins were “empty” and initially suggested it might be because I hadn’t eaten breakfast. I then went away, had something to eat and came back to try again, but unfortunately they still couldn’t get the blood. I had also made sure to drink plenty of water beforehand.
I was told that four needles were used for the four attempts, so I assume a new needle was used each time, although I wasn’t watching the whole procedure, that’s worrying me.
I completely understand that sometimes a blood draw can be difficult even when it has never been a problem before, but the whole experience has left me feeling quite anxious about going back, especially as I’ve already paid for the Panorama test.
I know Panorama itself is a well-established NIPT, so I’d really like to hear from anyone who has actually used My Baby Company.
Has anyone had their Panorama/NIPT through them and had a good experience? Was the blood draw straightforward, how long did your results take, and were you happy with how everything was handled?
