Postpartum hair loss after baby: when did it start and stop?

Anyone else have massive hair loss after having their baby? How long after did it start and when did it stop? Hairs coming out by the handful going to be bald to add insult to injury 😅

Me! So much hair loss. Had to buy something to unclog the drains. It started around 3.5 months and stopped around 6 months pp.

It's only the hair you would of lost during your pregnancy. Pregnancy hormones slow down the normal shedding.You're hair loss will slowly go back to to how it was before your pregnancy. Don't worry it'll be fine.

It stopped when the baby was about three months old, but as pp says it's due to less hair loss during pregnancy so it's not as bad as it seems!

It's not hair loss technically. During pregnancy your scalp stops shedding hair folicules for a few months, post partum it starts shedding again and because there was a backlog it looks like loads but it's not really, it's just returning to normal. The shed lasted about two months for me. I still miss the luscious locks I had during pregnancy.

Started basically bang on 4 months PP, stopped after two months

Mine started at around 3.5 months and like you, really thought I was going to end up bald as so much was coming out but it slowed right off at around 6 months. I now have hilarious regrowth around the front of my hair line which is fun. Thoughts and prayers to you lol

I was worried about having this but took us health hair and energy vitamins and didn’t really notice much. Have no idea if the vitamins helped or if I was just lucky. I had a boy and apparently it’s normally worse with boys but that could be a myth.

My 1st started at 4 months PP and stopped at 12 months PP.
My 2nd it started 2 months PP and stopped 6 months PP
2 boys.
