Early Scan Dates Don’t Match - anyone had similar and positive outcome?

Hi all,
Looking for some reassurance / experiences from anyone who has had a similar situation with early dating.

My LMP was 25 June, which would put me at around 8+1 today (21 August). However, I know I have ovulated later than the standard day-14 assumption, even though I didn’t track OPK or BBT.

I got my first positive pregnancy test on 23 July. It was a very faint FRER and Clearblue Digital said 1–2 weeks. On 12 August I got a Clearblue 3+ and a dye-stealer FRER.

I had an early scan today for reassurance, expecting to be around 7+3 ish. But the reassurance was kinda short-lived.

It was an internal scan and we saw an embryo and yolk sack measuring 4.6mm CRL, which the machine dated at 6+1. There was also a flickering heartbeat, which was obviously reassuring.

The confusing bit is the dating. If my LMP were used I’d be 8+1, if we go off of my ovulation estimation I’d be a bit over 7, but the scan is measuring around 6+1.

Natural Cycles had my ovulation as 17 July, although I’m not sure how much I trust that. If that were correct, I’d be around 7 weeks today, which seems much closer to the scan measurement. However, the positive test on 23 July would then have been extremely early (only around 6DPO), so I’m struggling to make the dates fit.

The sonographer didn’t seem concerned nor did she suggest a repeat scan or anything, however I’m planning to go back in around 12 days…

I know nobody can tell me what will happen with this pregnancy from one scan, and I’m not looking for a diagnosis - just hoping to hear from people who’ve actually been in this weird early-pregnancy limbo!

Thank you ❤️

You can’t ever know your ovulation date without tracking. For instance the month I conceived my eldest I randomly ovulated around CD23 - I know for sure because he wasn’t planned and it was a go get the MAP moment, I thought I was well clear of ovulation but took it to be safe and 9 months later my baby boy arrived to prove it doesn’t always work.
