I'm almost 8 weeks pregnant and the nausea has hit me like a truck. I'm now on Xonvea which has stopped some of the heaving/vomiting but everything smells and I'm struggling to eat.

I've lost 4lbs in about 10 days but the GP isn't bothered as long as i am keeping food down. I feel awful as my current foods are cereal, pretzels and rice. I also have low iron and the GP said I need to take supplements, but I daren't as I feel so ill now. I can't take my multivitamin as I'm not eating meals. I also cant find anything I want to drink.

Please can anyone advise what might help? I feel so low everyday and guilty that I'm not eating anything with actual nutrients in and worried that my pregnancy will end because of it.

Thank you.

I found lying horizontal as much as possible helped, if I did that I could generally manage to nibble and sip as long as I did it little and often. But if you are not managing then get more medical support, you shouldn't be left suffering.

Its awful OP! They weighed me at the hospital after my EMCS before discharge and I was 8kg lighter than before I got pregnant. Despite the nausea and food aversion baby was healthy and over 9lb.

I couldn't eat. Only stayed out of hospital as I could keep sugary flat drinks down. Tried to eat crackers, breadsticks, tortilla chips when I could. Eventually I started being able to tolerate sour sweets bizarrely. Haribo tangfastics etc. But around 8 weeks I literally had a week where I maybe ate a pack of tortilla chips and half a slice of toast all week.

I lived on dry boiled pasta & rice with a splash of soy sauce, arrowroot & nice biscuits until my sickness cleared, I was constantly hungry fancying other foods but when I ate them I started throwing up & strangely having the runs. My sickness passed by 12 weeks overnight.

The only thing I could manage was homemade lentil soup.

Ice lollies and dry crackers
and IV fluids when needed massively helped
