pregnant with unplanned number 3 - help

Although I haven't done a test, I'm pretty convinced and (although it breaks my heart to say so) very upset. How do mums cope with 3? I find it hard with 2 dcs. eeeek! And they were just getting to a managable age (2 and 4). sigh.

I'll do a test today to just check but I'm two weeks late and usually very regular.

Any advice?

The first thing to do is to do a test, although that sounds obvious! Your period could just be delayed, by stress, illness, tiredness, or sometimes no reason. Do a test and you should know for certain.

I also have a two year old and a four year old, and am pregnant again. I am convincing myself it won't be that hard!

its fine I have 3 who are now 4.8,2.6 and 1.6 they are lovely together and play for hours.

you do need to test though!!

beegee · 20/06/2008 07:01

let us know. How do you think your dp will react?

NorthernLurker · 20/06/2008 07:38

I have three and it really is lovely. There are ooodles of people on here with three - and plenty of then didn't plan to have three - there will be lots of support for you here!

McDreamy · 20/06/2008 07:51

Hi Beegee, I am also pregnant with number 3. It's taken a year of ttc but finally I am pregnant. Although planned I keep waking up wondering how I am going to cope! I think we'll all surprise ourselves

Let us know about the test and if positive come and join us on the "due in Feb 09" thread, you'll be so welcome

beegee · 20/06/2008 07:59

dp is a gorgeous man (thank goodness) but he's quite quiet about it all right now. Bit freaked with the thought I think. He does quite a lot of the childcare at home so he knows the reality of the work involved.

I'll let you know test results later on.

I've just recently had my third DC.
He is 9 weeks old.
IME, it is SO much easier going from 2 children to three, he has just slotted in nicely as if he was always meant to be here.
Try not to fret too much

McDreamy · 20/06/2008 08:05

That is so reassuring victorian, thank you and congratulations!

VictorianSqualor · 20/06/2008 08:19

Thanks
I too panicked, a lot, when you have two it seems like every possible second of your time is taken up with them and how on earth could you fit another in right?
You just do!

One thing I try to remember is that if DS2 is clean, fed and safe then if one of the other two need me, they come first.
Emotionally he will be fine being left to whinge whilst I deal with his brother or sister, whereas emotionally, they need me more and need reassurance that they are still important, I also spent most of my pregnancy telling them about how much time BFing would take up so they were aware that for a short time Mummy would be busy practically all day feeding the baby.
They've been really great with it and love him too pieces.
I hope you both have the same experiences with your third children

(Oh, also, the fact that you've done it twice before really kicks in after a few days and it seems to fly by quite nicely and easily!)

nappyaddict · 20/06/2008 08:21

don't worry until you've done a test. believe it or not but asda's own brand is the most sensitive.

beegee · 20/06/2008 15:06

Well test was negative

So feel all weird now! Strange - I'd started to get a bit used to the idea after getting the support from you lovely peeps.

Have to think seriously now about whether I do want to try for number 3 after all!!!

Sorry for the false alarm. Good luck with all your pregnancies and newborns xxx
